Honor 9 Flagship Launched

The Honor 8 was one of the most popular phones from Huawei last year and was even given a Pro model to follow up on its success. Today Honor announced the Honor 9 as the next installment of this phone line. The new phone comes with several improvements while keeping the signature glass body which catches light in a way that makes this phone stand out from the rest. The announcement of this phone came from an event in Berlin, Germany called “LightCatcher Revealed”. Early indicators are that with 6GB of RAM, the Kirin 960 found on the Mate 9, and a 1080p display, the Honor 9 might be one of the fastest phones so far this year.

Honor 9 Specs
CPU HiSilicon Kirin 960 Octa-core (4×2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53)
RAM 4/6GB
Storage 64/128GB
Cameras Dual 20MP + 12MP, f/2.2 (rear) 8 MP, f/2.0 (selfie)
Battery 3200 mAh

Upgraded Camera

The dual camera setup on the Honor 9 is equipped with 20MP and 12MP sensors to create one of the best cameras that we has seen from Honor so far. The camera captures more detail and more light than the Honor 8.

Faster Performance

The Kirin 960 is the insanely fast chipset powering this new device. You’ll have the option of either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and an upgraded Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. These specs result in the Honor 9 being a fantastic phone for gaming and one of the fastest all-around phones that there are. This phone will run Android Nougat with the latest EMUI 5.1.

Great Price

The price for an Honor 9 starts at £379.99 (around $480). This price point makes this phone a competitor to devices like the OnePlus 5, which is similar in specs and cost.

Unique Build

One thing the Honor 8 did really well was create a look with the glass body that stood out with bold reflections. The Honor 9 sticks with this design with the same reflective body in the new phone. As far as color options go, you get get this device in Glacier Grey, Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black.
