The Honor 9i Brings Four Cameras and an 18:9 Display with Small Bezels

With the launch of the Honor 9i, we are getting an affordable and powerful device that brings four cameras for all your photography needs. The Honor 9i not only features dual rear cameras, but also dual front facing cameras that bring the benefits of dual camera setups to your selfies.

The front facing cameras have 13MP and 2MP sensors with an f/2.0 wide aperture. This allows the Honor 9i to bring the popular bokeh effect to your selfies, along with meatier flash options. The rear camera is also equipped with a dual lens setup and has 16MP and 2MP sensors — obviously, these additional sensors are primarily added for an expanded feature set and aren’t meant to be used for anything besides assisting the main camera. The total of four different cameras in one phone is a rarity in the smartphone world, though, with only a couple of smartphones offering dual front facing cameras at the moment. Very few smartphones have offered more than three cameras in total, with a hilarious exception being the Amazon Fire Phone (four front facing cameras).

The Honor 9i is one of the few smartphone that put dual cameras on the front of a device.

Dimensions CPU Display Camera Memory Battery
156.2mm x 75.2mm x 7.5mm Kirin 659 2160x1080p Dual front 13MP + 2MP Dual back 16MP + 2MP 4GB + 64GB 3340 mAh
Along with the new camera design, Honor implements the new 18:9 aspect ratio standard. This gives you a screen resolution of 2160x1080p (so you won’t see an improvement in pixel density over 1080p devices) with a taller display and minimal bezels. Very few devices in this price range are able to minimize bezels, and Honor is one of the first to incorporate a taller screen ratio that, up until now, was near exclusively found on flagship devices like the Galaxy S8 or the Essential Phone. The Kirin 659 should also be enough to power the display and ensure a speedy UI experience. At 3,340mAh, the battery capacity is certainly suitable for this device, even with its 12.5% longer screen diagonal (which results in about 7% more screen area than a regular 5.5 inch device).

The new 18:9 aspect ratio standard is used with the FHD+ display.

Four cameras, an awesome display and powerful specs are all wrapped up in a 7.5mm metal unibody. The Honor i9 comes with Android nougat 7.0 running EMUI 5.1. Check out the community forums for this phone below!
