Source: Honor V10 has a 3750 mAh Battery, 18:9 LCD Screen, All Metal Body & 3.5mm Headphone Jack

We’re hot off the heels of the OnePlus 5T release, but there are still a few more flagship-worthy smartphones that’ll be announced before the end of 2017. Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei, is set to announce the Honor V10 at an event in China on November 28th. With only 11 days left until the event, it’s surprising how little information we have on the device. For starters, we know that the device will be nearly bezel-less since the company has advertised it as such.

International Honor V10 Launch Announcement

Otherwise, the only information we have so far about the Honor V10 comes from documents leaked to GizChina. According to these documents, the Honor V10 will have an 18:9 display, HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, 6GBs of RAM, and 64/128GBs of internal storage. These documents also claim that the phone will have a dual rear camera setup with 16+20MP sensors.

There are a few other claims in the GizChina article, but according to evidence we found in official Honor V10 Chinese and international firmware provided exclusively to XDA-Developers by FunkyHuawei.club, those claims are now in dispute.

The Honor V10 firmware I obtained was provided by FunkyHuawei.club, a service which lets you install pre-release Huawei firmwares, recover bricked devices, and rebrand/convert China region phones to international variants. The service supports the Mate 10/V10 series and offers root tools as well as ways to rebrand devices without unlocking your bootloader and even unbrick them.

Honor V10 Specifications Leaked

To start off with, we now have credible evidence regarding the display characteristics. The display panel found on the Honor V10 will be a 5.99″ LCD panel manufactured by one of BOE, CTC, TIANMA, or TRULY. It will have a resolution of 2160×1080, which means it has an aspect ratio of 18:9.

As for the battery capacity, it will be a slight downgrade over the existing Honor V9. While the previous generation V9 has a 4000 mAh battery like the Huawei Mate 9 and newly released Huawei Mate 10 series, the Honor V10 will have a battery capacity rated at 3750 mAh.

In terms of storage, we have also learned that the Honor V10 will have a microSD card slot. The front camera is also a 13MP shooter, which is a slight bump from the Mate 10 series. The dual rear cameras won’t carry Leica Camera branding, though.

As for the body, the Honor V10 seems to have an all metal body. It won’t be IP68 rated water and dust resistant, though. Unlike many 2017 flagships, including Huawei’s own Mate 10 “Pro”the Honor V10 will include a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Software-wise, it will be running Android 8.0 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.0. Much of the new software features can be read about in our hands on of EMUI 8.0 or by viewing its changelog. We have found 6 build variants of the Honor V10 so far, including: BKL-AL00, BKL-AL10, BKL-AL20, BKL-L09, BKL-Lo9I, BKL-TL10, BKL-TL20. Keep in mind that most of these builds are for specific Chinese carriers, though of course there is an international model as well.

We don’t yet know what LTE bands this device supports, so we can’t tell you if you’ll be able to use it with your carrier in the United States. We did find evidence that AT&T will carry the Huawei Mate 10 Pro in the U.S., however, so you’ll at least have that option.

The official announcement of the Honor V10 will soon be here, so stay tuned to the XDA Portal for more information on this new Honor flagship device.
