LG V30+ Launched in India with FullVision Display and 32-bit HiFi Quad DAC for Rs. 44,990

At a launch event in New Delhi on Wednesday, Seoul, South Korean-based smartphone smartphone maker LG unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the LG V30, for the Indian subcontinent. The LG V30+ was announced back in August at IFA 2017 and arrived in the US and European markets in October. But today marks the first time it’s come to India.

Pricing & Availability

Unlike in the U.S., where both the LG V30 and higher-end LG V30+ are available, the company is only bringing the LG V30+ variant to India. The LG V30+ comes in two colors in India, Aurora Black, and Cloud Silver, and will retail for a price of  Rs. 44,990 ($700). It’s available for pre-order right now, and will go on sale exclusively on Amazon India starting December 18.

To attract potential buyers, LG’s throwing in some freebies with every LG V30+ purchase. They include a one-time screen replacement worth Rs. 12,000 ($186), a wireless charger worth Rs. 3,000 (46), and in-app purchase worth Rs. 6,400 ($100) for a music game called Beat Fever.

The LG V30 is successor to last year’s LG V20, and it offers top-of-the-line hardware, a modern design, and a superior software experience.

As far as specifications are concerned, the LG V30+ boasts a 6-inch 18:9 FullVision P-OLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a screen resolution of 1440 x 2880. On the inside, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-a-chip (SoC) paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. On the back, the LG V30+ features a dual-camera setup comprising a 16MP f/1.6 primary shooter and a 13MP f/1.9 wide-angle lens with 1.0 μm pixel size, phase detection autofocus, and a dual-tone LED flash module. Meanwhile, the front camera’s a 5MP wide-angle lens with a f/2.2 aperture and a 90-degree field of view.

The V30+ has a 3.300mAh capacity battery and supports rapid charging via Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 and USB PD standards. Moreover, the device also has fast wireless charging functionality which, according to the company, can charge the battery from 0 to 55 percent just in 1 hour. Moving on to software, the V30+ ships with the Android 7.1.2 Nougat with LG’s custom skin on top, but the company says it’ll updated to Android Oreo in future. (in fact, an Oreo beta is already available for the Korean version)

Other highlights include a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, IP68 water and dust protection, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C, microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
