Honor View 10 pre-order begins today in the US for $499, ships March 22nd

The Honor View 10 is the international variant of the Honor V10. It was unveiled on December 7th at an event in London and it went on sale in several international markets, including India and the UK, on January 8th. However, the US was missing from the initial list of available markets.

Honor has announced the Honor View 10 will be available for pre-sale in the US from March 12-22, with shipments beginning on March 22nd. The phone will cost $499 in the US, and it’s worth noting the price matches that of its closest competitor, the OnePlus 5T, while offering double the amount of internal storage (128GB vs. 64GB).

The Honor View 10 is a high-end affordable flagship smartphone with a list of specifications to match. It has the HiSilicon Kirin 970 system-on-chip, which has a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The SoC has four ARM Cortex-A73 cores and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores, paired with the Mali G72MP12 GPU.

The phone has 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB of storage along with a microSD card slot. The display is a 6-inch Full HD+ (2160×1080) 18:9 IPS LCD. It has dual 16MP + 20MP RGB + monochrome rear cameras with a f/1.8 aperture and real-time object and scene recognition. It’s powered by a 3750mAh battery and it runs EMUI 8 on top of Android Oreo.

Honor states that the phone has received several awards during CES in January from leading media outlets. “Positive feedback from media give us the confidence that the Honor View 10 will deliver beyond what is expected at this price,” Zack Zhang (Vice president of Honor USA) stated. “Honor is focused on exploring what U.S. consumers want and adapting each step of the way. We believe the Honor View 10 will be a game changer in North America.”

The company is also promoting the open-source development for the device. Thanks to the Honor Open Source Program, prominent developers have received free units of the Honor View 10. Magisk and TWRP are now available for the device and unofficial LineageOS is also in development. Project Treble-enabled custom ROM development has been progressing at a steady pace.

The Honor View 10 will be available for pre-order in Navy Blue and Midnight Black for $499 starting March 12th from Honor’s US store. The new Honor Sport Bluetooth Earphones will also be made available beginning March 12th for $39.99.

Finally, Honor states that since it has launched in the US in 2013, they have “tremendous growth” within US retail sales channels, and they have “one of the lowest return rates in the industry” at a one percent return rate. The company’s products are available in 74 countries and it has sold 20 million units of its products so far.
